Dastardly
Season 2- Episode 6
Hmmmm. If I was somebody who wrote about music I’d maybe say that Dastardly is an Americana band with pop sensibilities and a noisy streak. I am not someone who writes about music so I would say that they’re a terrific group of people with an over the top energetic lead singer and they left drunker than when they arrived (I think).
Dastardly makes really good...

Aktar Aktar
SEASON 2- EPISODE 5
Aktar Aktar feels like this to me- The music is a soundtrack for a mid 70s bonfire party right where the woods and foothills meet up with the beach. Their sound has a late 60’s folk rock quality to it but it also seems to know very well that we’ll soon be driving around and blaring Edgar Winter Group’s Frankenstein out of our car stereos.

Hospital Garden
SEASON 2- EPISODE 3
This is Hospital Garden. I’ve read about them being Chicago via Dayton, OH but I think they’ve been here long enough to just be Chicago. I’ve also read about them being a combination of sounds all heavily influenced by 90s rock. (Just so we can play too- think standard tunings Sonic Youth fronted by an agitated Michael Stipe) I suppose the 90s descriptions...

Skull Orchard
SEASON 2- EPISODE 2
There’s almost a novel’s worth of information that can be said about Jon Langford and his musical/artistic history to this point. I, however, am not a historian and so for details and dates and whatnot I refer you to the definitive resource of all things modern- crowdsourced, peer evaluated, anonymous online postings (wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Langford)
What I can...
